Did you know Chicago is home to an acrobatic team consisting of young men from the area?

Tim Shaw, a professional gymnast with over 30 years of experience in circus performing, wanted to find a way to support youth in his area and provide greater opportunities. As a result, he formed the acrobatic group “Chicago Boyz” whose performances include stunts, tumbling and cool tricks such as catapulting off mini trampolines.

To further his mission of providing greater opportunities and support for youth in his area, members on the team must maintain a “C” average in school, and cannot drop out or associate with gangs, drugs, alcohol or tobacco. Because of this, many members have been able to benefit from this positive impact, stating that it has helped set them up for a successful path in life.

The group has gone to perform at many events around Chicago, such as community fairs, schools and even sporting events, and was a semifinalist on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” in season 8.
